My Fourth Wing Fan Cast

Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros has taken over the book world in just a few months. And like a lot of you, I am OBSESSED, sat here patiently waiting for Iron Flame and for someone to realise that these books need to be made into a film or tv series!

Fourth Wing Fan Cast

Anyway, there has been a lot of controversy with how some of the characters are depicted in fan art or even fan casts (although I've not seen that many yet) as there usually is anyway.

This is my current fan cast for some of the main Fourth Wing characters. It is based on just general vibes and I will explain exactly why I've chosen each of these actors and actresses even if they do not fit the exact physical descriptions.

I don't think we can help who immediately springs to mind for a character when we're reading, even if their appearance doesn't always match up to the descriptions. Reading is a unique and personal experience for everyone so I just feel like we should be able to picture the characters however we want and that's that... Especially as all we are seeing is words on a page right? The story is playing in our heads so it's unique to each of us. Anyway, here is my fan cast...

**Potential character development and plot spoilers for those who haven't read the book yet.**

Alycia Debnam-Carey

First up we of course have Violet Sorrengail, the badass female main character of Fourth Wing. For me, Alycia Debnam-Carey would play a perfect Violet! I just think she has this sweetness about her but as we've seen in The 100 she knows how to portray a fierce sword wielding warrior. You can see how she could play the "weak" Violet everyone see's only to then later prove them all wrong with her incredible strength! I can just picture her walking the paraphet or sitting on the back of a dragon. Honestly, with some hair-dye or a wig I actually think they Alycia Debnam-Carey could match Violet's physical appearance pretty well too.

Kedar Williams-Stirling

Next, the famed Dain Aetos. Dain, the rule abiding, "I care about you but not enough to do anything about it" dude that doesn't think much for himself. If you've watched Sex Education then I'm sure you can see why I think Kedar Williams-Stirling gives off Dain Aetos vibes thanks to his role as Jackson in the Netflix series. Ofcourse his role in Sex Ed has a lot of development BUT the general vibes from his character at the start could definitely work for portraying Dain.

Froy Gutierrez

I picture Jack Barlowe as the American actor Froy Gutierrez. As far as I know I've never seen him in anything but I came across him in another fan cast for a different book and since then I always pictured him as Jack Barlowe. Not much reasoning behind this one, it just felt like a good fit.

Zoë Kravitz

Up next, my lady Rhiannon Matthias. We love her ok, her character is amazing and the book truly would not be the same without her. Rhiannon and Violet are friends for life! I don't know what Iron Flame is going to throw at us but I'm really excited to see where their friendship is headed. From two of Violets closest friends I got a major Divergent feel from which is why I had to fan cast Zoë Kravitz as Rhiannon. Leading me onto the next one...

Ben Lloyd-Hughes

...Ridoc. He's funny and cute. There is nobody who doesn't like Ridoc. Like I said, due to the Divergent feel I got from these two I had to fan cast Ridoc as Ben Lloyd-Hughes who plays Will in the Divergent films.

Wallis Day

Give her some pink hair and Wallis Day is Imogen Marshall. I had to go on the search a little bit for who I could actually picture as Imogen but I think I found her!

Jane Lynch

I am not the only one to have pictured General Sorrengail as Jane Lynch apparently! Maybe it was from her former role in Glee where her character was strong willed and a little bit scary. I don't know but can't you just imagine her as the heartless General Sorrengail?

Alexander Ludwig

Liam Mairi. Don't talk about it because my heart still can't take it. You may have first met Alexander Ludwig in the Hunger Games or more recently in the Vikings series. Either way he totally has Liam energy. Sweet but strong. And I can say nothing more right now about Liam because I don't want to cry today.

Gabriel Guevara

Lastly but most definitely not least; Xaden Riorson. Possibly the most loved book boyfriend out there right now and if not well then he's for sure making the top 5. I recently watched Culpa Mia on Amazon ES and for me, Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara is just totally Xaden. Watch some clips from the film and you'll see what I mean.

Also I've discovered that Cupla Mia (My Fault) is a book trilogy too! It's available in English as well but this book has gone wild on the Spanish side of Booktok apparently!

So this is my fan cast for right now, it might change next week, next month or next book. But for now this is my fan cast based on vibes and the general aesthetic of each character.

Who do you picture? Let me know on my Fourth Wing fan cast on TikTok. I'm sure I'll do an updated version at some point with some other amazing suggestions!
