Holy Guacamole I LOVEDDD this book, but so so much. What can I say except from wow, wow, wow. It was honestly an amazing read, I ploughed through it like there was no tomorrow and I need the rest of the series to be ready ASAP. I've now seen for myself why you all love Sarah J Maas so much. What a writer. Each chapter of this book ended with an irresistible mystery that stopped me being able to put the book down. Although, saying that, it got so intense towards the end (literally there was solid action for the last 150-200 pages) that I needed to have a snack break just to calm down.

From the very first few chapters I fell in love with each and every character and really felt like I knew them. It took a minute to get to grips with the new world and higher achy along with all the types of Vanir but once I figured it out it was smooth sailing. Incredible how Maas can paint a picture so well, the images in my head were probably more vivid than any book I've read before.
In some reviews people have said they were annoyed that Bryce is a party girl and seems immature. Like first of all she's just a book character not your child so chill out. Secondly, I think the twenty year olds reading it are going to bring our their bad girl side and relate to it. So to the people who were rattled at the start and in turn put the book down, you should have kept going! Personally, I love girl. She is a top class feminist, she holds her own and will not take shiz from nobody. Like that is the kind of main character I'm looking for, that is LEADING LADY.
Without giving any spoilers away the book is essentially a build up, then pure shock and then bad ass action.
This was supposedly Maas' first adult book, it's the first of hers that I've read though therefore I can't make the comparison to her other books. But I will tell you that it gets raunchy and heated at times. Violent parts of the book are more descriptive than in YA books I'd say, and the woman isn't afraid of throwing in a lot of swear words (which doesn't bother me but it may bother other people).
I've seen some bad reviews of this book and honestly I'm surprised because I thought it was amazing. Brilliantly written and the story flowed so well, it was clearly very well planned out. There wasn't even a moment of 'this is boring, can I skip past these few pages?'. Most reviews are top rating though with the Google average currently being at 4.7 stars.
PEOPLE - If you have read this book then send me a message because I want someone to discuss and fan girl with.
AND if you haven't read it then do yourself a favour and BUY IT NOW, it is hella worth every single penny. Plus just LOOK at that cover, stunning.
