My 5 Favourite Quotes

I do love a good quote and searching for hidden meanings in them. Dependant on what is going on in my life will ultimately decide which quotes are the front of my mind. Here are 5 that have stuck with me for a while, wait until you read down to my number 1, I just live for it!

I can’t remember how all these quotes ever found their way to me... I have only been able to give credit to two of the writers as I can’t find who wrote the rest. People seem to just put their names on anything they fancy these days so if you happen to know who any of the authors are to these quotes below please drop me a message so I can give the deserved credit.

“The world she lives in is just magical, one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.”

I find this quote to be a really special one, does it mean that she lives in a land of stories and novels? To me, this can be perceived as quite a personal quote as we all live in our own versions of the world, we can make it be however we choose to see it. I like to relate to this as my world is filled with the magic of fairy tales and I live with my head in the clouds. I have the gift of being deeply affected by the atmosphere around me; a sad song will change my mood to match, a love song will make me feel warm inside, it doesn’t tend to matter how I was feeling before. This can be both a blessing and a curse.

“Your life is a result of the choices you make. If you don’t like your life, it’s time to start making some better choices. Don’t wait. The time will never be just right."

-An Authors Choice

These words inspired my future (and they are mine). I was experiencing a challenging time in my life, I was unhappy with my situation so I upped and moved country which completely spun my world around. Since then I’ve been on so many adventures, learned a lot about myself and healed my soul. I wasn’t prepared for what I did but I don’t have a single regret. You might not have the luxury of funds or support behind you, there will never be a right time though and life is too short, be happy.

“She was a love letter girl in a double tap world.”

I’m lucky to have found someone who isn’t much into social media. Without noticing, I’ve gradually cut time my time on there, since starting this blog I have dropped my personal page pretty much altogether, but I went through a phase of having my eyes glued to the screen.

Social media damages relationships and constantly challenges them, never mind what it does to your mental health and expectations. Likes and comments from people you won’t ever meet can provide a temporary confidence boost but your loved one should be able to give you more than that. Find someone who dedicates time to loving you and not to the double tap. Feel more in depth emotions from the real world instead of on screen.

“Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit. Talk about your joys.”

When I worked in a restaurant, I had the responsibility of responding to online reviews. You quickly discover that people forget the good and a lot of the time only remember/choose to share the bad.

It can be addicting to talk about our problems. As important as it is to share them with others “a problem shared is a problem halved”, it’s also important to move on. Don’t dwell on the bad times or you will be stuck there. Find happiness and spread it to everyone far and near! When I’m having a bad time, I remind myself of this quote to force myself out of it.

“She was Happy. She lived for herself and enjoyed her own company. They called it loneliness, she knew it was freedom.”

– F.E.Marie

This is my favourite quote of them all. It is truly beautiful. As a person who really enjoys spending time alone, it as lovely to have that “this could have been written about me” feeling. It clearly wasn’t but it fits me so well. Don’t get me wrong, I do have brilliant people around me; my partner, friends and family. There is an art in being alone though and being alone isn’t the same as being lonely.

It also hints at the fact this woman mention in the quote doesn’t care about what anyone else thinks because she is truly happy with herself. – An important lesson we all come to learn.

F.E.Marie has an inspiring Instagram page, click here for a direct link or search her name, I follow her if that makes her account any easier to locate.

There are hundreds of quotes I can think of to add in here, these are several that I love the meaning of. Send me quotes you love, what inspires you? Whose words replay in your head during those hard times?
